Celebrate the radiant innocence and courageous faith of St. Maria Goretti with this luminous digital portrait. Clothed in a traditional peasant dress with embroidered florals, Maria stands amidst a garden of white roses and lilies — symbols of her purity and sanctity. She holds a single white rose and wears a wooden cross around her neck, a sign of her deep love for Christ.
Behind her, a crucifix rises above the scene, representing the mercy and forgiveness she offered even in her final moments. A golden halo and ornate floral frame complete the scene, highlighting her heroic virtue and heavenly crown.
This sacred artwork is a tender yet powerful tribute to one of the youngest saints in Church history.
Short Biography:
St. Maria Goretti (1890–1902) was born to a poor Italian farming family and grew up helping her widowed mother raise her siblings. At the age of 11, she was attacked by a young man who attempted to assault her. She resisted, crying out that it was a sin, and was stabbed multiple times. As she lay dying, she forgave her attacker and expressed her desire to see him in heaven.
Maria died a martyr for chastity and forgiveness. Her story has inspired millions, particularly youth, to choose purity, mercy, and holiness in the face of suffering. She was canonized in 1950 by Pope Pius XII, with her mother present — a first in Church history.
