St. Julietta & St. Quiricus – Martyrs of Love and Courage
Catholic Digital Art Download
$5.00
This sacred portrait tenderly captures St. Julietta holding her child, St. Quiricus, moments before their martyrdom. With serenity and strength, Julietta reflects the quiet courage of a mother who has entrusted her child to God, while Quiricus rests peacefully—symbolizing his innocence and sanctity. The golden halos, solemn stone steps, and surrounding palms speak of sacrifice, eternal reward, and the holy mystery of redemptive suffering.
Inspired by early Christian martyrdom and Renaissance iconography, this image is both heart-wrenching and hopeful—a visual meditation on parental faith and holy bravery.
Short Biography:
St. Julietta and her 3-year-old son Quiricus were martyred in the early 4th century during the Diocletian persecution. Fleeing to Tarsus to escape arrest, Julietta was eventually captured. When she refused to deny Christ, her child Quiricus boldly declared his faith—and was killed before her eyes. Julietta, refusing to recant, followed him in martyrdom. Their witness has long inspired the Church with the truth that holiness is not bound by age and that even the smallest voices can echo the Gospel.
