$5.00
This regal digital portrait honors St. Clotilda (c. 474–545), the noble queen who brought Christianity to the Frankish kingdom and forever changed the course of European history. Crowned with golden splendor and adorned in richly embroidered robes, she stands gracefully beneath an ornate arch with cathedrals and cityscapes of early medieval Gaul behind her. Clotilda holds a golden cross, symbolizing her role as both queen and missionary of Christ to her people. Her luminous expression reflects both royal dignity and deep interior grace.
Short Biography
Born into Burgundian royalty, Clotilda married Clovis I, King of the Franks. Through her steadfast prayers and example, Clovis converted to Christianity after invoking the Christian God in battle. His baptism marked the beginning of France as a Christian kingdom. After his death, Clotilda devoted her life to prayer, works of mercy, and the founding of churches and monasteries. She died in 545 in Tours, venerated as a mother of kings, a builder of the Church, and a spiritual matriarch of Christian Europe.
