This stunning digital artwork honors St. Alexander of Jerusalem, portrayed with fellow early Church bishops in regal episcopal attire. Radiating wisdom, authority, and sanctity, they stand united in faith, holding a scroll and palm—symbols of martyrdom and doctrinal teaching. Their gold mitres and vestments reflect the dignity of the apostolic office, while the backdrop of classical architecture evokes the Church’s unbroken foundation.
Perfect for those who revere early Church history, martyrs, and the witness of the bishops who preserved the faith under persecution, this print is both a tribute and a theological statement.
Short Biography:
St. Alexander of Jerusalem (d. c. 251) was a bishop and martyr of the early Church. A close friend of St. Origen and co-founder of the library in Jerusalem, Alexander was known for his learning, pastoral care, and firm stand against heresy. Arrested during the persecution of Emperor Decius, he was imprisoned and eventually martyred for his faith.
He is remembered as a defender of orthodoxy, patron of scholars and clergy, and early champion of sacred learning and apostolic unity.
