Fellow Pilgrims in Christ,

Today we honor Our Lady of Sorrows — the Mother who stood at the foot of the Cross, sharing fully in the suffering of her Son. This feast invites us to meditate on Mary’s Seven Sorrows, moments that pierced her Immaculate Heart:

1️⃣ The Prophecy of Simeon (Lk 2:25-35)
2️⃣ The Flight into Egypt (Mt 2:13-15)
3️⃣ The Loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple (Lk 2:41-50)
4️⃣ Mary Meets Jesus on the Way to Calvary (Lk 23:27-31)
5️⃣ Mary Stands at the Foot of the Cross (Jn 19:25-30)
6️⃣ Mary Receives the Body of Jesus (Lk 23:55-56)
7️⃣ Jesus is Laid in the Tomb (Lk 23:55-56)

Mary’s sorrows are not moments of despair but of deep love — love that stays, even when the world falls apart. She shows us how to stand firm in faith when we face suffering, how to offer our pain to God, and how to love even when it costs everything.

“Blessed are you, O Virgin Mary; without dying you won the martyr’s crown beneath the Cross of the Lord.” - Gospel Acclamation

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.
